2015 - Another Amazing Year for Unique Wedding Planning

2015 was another amazing year for Unique Wedding Planning with so many varied events, parties, styled shoots, consultancy projects and beautiful weddings. Here's just a small snap-shot of some of them

We spent some time in the countryside - Some of it sunny - some of it not! We created beautiful weddings out of many empty spaces including cattle barns and open fields

We worked with some fabulously talented suppliers to create events & weddings at some seriously stunning venues

We worked for some amazing couples who we are fortunate enough to have been employed by

We also organised some fabulous parties and styled shoots
The one featured here was part of the venue consultancy we provided for https://hootonpagnellhall.com/
By overseeing the styled-shoot, their social network and website lay-out and wording, we've certainly helped to put them on the wedding venue map

We've so many exciting things planned for 2016 that we're already busy designing weddings, advising on marquees, attending food-tasting sessions(that's a great part of this job :)),Skyping our three couples who are living abroad and a whole range of detailed planning tasks with our clients for this year

2014 Review

2014 has been the most amazing year yet for Unique! 

From winning National Wedding Planner of the Year to dealing with the biggest wedding disaster turned success we've ever experienced!

We couldn't have done it without the support from some very talented suppliers and it always helps when you get to meet and work with such wonderful couples at the most stunning venues all year

Wednesday 12^th February

I was so pleased to have won the National Award for Best Independent Wedding Planner at The Wedding Industry Awards, that I wanted to say a massive thank-you to all the fabulous suppliers that support me ...On one of the most wet & windy nights of the year & in true wedding style determination, thanks to the many that turned out - I feel a bit of suppliers net-working (really partying!) is the future!

 Luckily the photos of us all don’t reflect just how bad the weather was! 

Some more stunning work from Candy! These went down a storm with everyone and tasted just as amazing as they look.

Luke Michael and his father Michael Moore performed a vocal set during the night; this got the night off to a brilliant start and built an amazing atmosphere! Everybody loved them!         

I was delighted to be joined by so many work friends.

It’s perfect timing as it coincides with the opening of the Victorian Conservatory which has been completely renovated over the last 18 months & will provide the perfect setting for your ceremony

There are some really stunning guest book ideas & I've seen so many unique ideas this year.

A simple but effective idea, is to get all your guests to sign one of the cut out shapes& they can then be put together and framed to make a fantastic & sentimental piece of art

Another simple and effective idea is A wish tree 

A really unique idea is to sign a Jenga brick & you can be reminded of the wedding every time you play!

Another great arty idea is to use inks & have everyone make a print of their thumb as though it’s a leaf on a branch – it looks amazing when complete

Getting your guests to take a polaroid picture of themselves & leave a message is not only fun but bang on trend with the whole vintage themed wedding

Finally, I really this idea of getting your guests to write a message and post it into one of the bottles
When it gets to the anniversary’s these bottles represent, they will be smashed to reveal all the messages left by your wedding guests

Guest books have come a long way since the book & pen idea & there endless possibilities.. I hope you like the ones I’ve shared as much as I do ..

It’s important for your bridesmaids to be comfortable on your special day, after all, they will be running around after you for most of it!

You may have a set colour & style for your bridesmaids or you may go for a variation of styles, within the same colour palette or even the same style in different colours – As long as you have something that pulls everything together, like the flowers for example- anything goes…

Here are a few ideas

 

 

 

I really like how the girls in these pictures all have a different dress to suit them; you want them to look & feel good too ..

 

The girls here are all wearing the same dress in the same colour however all have the top tied differently which gives them all a sense of individuality

 

 

If you can’t decide on a colour, who says you need too?

If you’ve chosen a colour, why not have variations of it from the same palette … I love this overall look

Unique Wedding Planning / Entertaining the kids / Ideas / Inspiration

Weddings are long days for anybody ….. especially for children!

If there are a number of children present at a wedding it’s important to keep them entertained .. luckily there are so many good ideas around to help you do this …

An idea that I love is supplying each child at the wedding with their own disposable camera. This instantly makes them feel they have a role in the day and will keep them busy
You could leave them to do their own thing or turn it into a game for them

  

You could supply the children with a list of shots to get by the end of the day … it will be interesting to see your wedding day from the child’s perspective

Keeping the kids entertained during the wedding breakfast is also important.
Another idea I like is supplying the kids with a gift bag on their chairs with small gifts inside. Things such as, games to play at the table, colouring books, crayons and bubbles! You’ll be surprised how long it keeps them busy ..and quiet through the speeches!

In any outside space it could be a great idea to leave a selection of games that they could play on a grassed area during the drinks receptions and for a run about after the meal

All these ideas are inexpensive, and well worth the investment..

Don't forget the Groom!!

It's his special day & he will want to look his best too ..

Many Grooms go for the traditional morning suit when choosing their wedding attire but more recently I have seen more and more people choosing a more relaxed approach & selecting suits that they'll be able to wear again

What I really like about this picture is the way each groomsman is wearing the same colour pallet yet wearing totally different ties, this is a really effective idea and gives each groomsman an individual edge

Another really simple but also effective idea is having the groom in a different suit to the rest of the groomsmen.

 My couples often ask me about gift ideas for their Best Man & Ushers. Personally I think that something that will be used everyday will make a great gift - even better if they can be personalised too 

I have come across some really unique ideas which I hope you like.
