There are some really stunning guest book ideas & I've seen so many unique ideas this year.

A simple but effective idea, is to get all your guests to sign one of the cut out shapes& they can then be put together and framed to make a fantastic & sentimental piece of art

Another simple and effective idea is A wish tree 

A really unique idea is to sign a Jenga brick & you can be reminded of the wedding every time you play!

Another great arty idea is to use inks & have everyone make a print of their thumb as though it’s a leaf on a branch – it looks amazing when complete

Getting your guests to take a polaroid picture of themselves & leave a message is not only fun but bang on trend with the whole vintage themed wedding

Finally, I really this idea of getting your guests to write a message and post it into one of the bottles
When it gets to the anniversary’s these bottles represent, they will be smashed to reveal all the messages left by your wedding guests

Guest books have come a long way since the book & pen idea & there endless possibilities.. I hope you like the ones I’ve shared as much as I do ..

This week I have been looking at so many different ideas for wedding cakes

Just look at these amazing chocolate creations!

 

I love these too that add such a modern twist to the traditional iced cake

Proving popular this summer is the naked wedding cake - They have a real vintage feel to them and still have the same wow factor as a more traditional cake. I love the way people choose to incorporate the use of flowers and fruit too

Another really different approach I came across was this idea of having two cakes!

A cake for the Bride and a cake for the Groom! This picture has a really modern feel and is very simplistic. It could be a really good idea if you want to have a few different flavors of sponge

Unique Wedding Planning / Entertaining the kids / Ideas / Inspiration

Weddings are long days for anybody ….. especially for children!

If there are a number of children present at a wedding it’s important to keep them entertained .. luckily there are so many good ideas around to help you do this …

An idea that I love is supplying each child at the wedding with their own disposable camera. This instantly makes them feel they have a role in the day and will keep them busy
You could leave them to do their own thing or turn it into a game for them

  

You could supply the children with a list of shots to get by the end of the day … it will be interesting to see your wedding day from the child’s perspective

Keeping the kids entertained during the wedding breakfast is also important.
Another idea I like is supplying the kids with a gift bag on their chairs with small gifts inside. Things such as, games to play at the table, colouring books, crayons and bubbles! You’ll be surprised how long it keeps them busy ..and quiet through the speeches!

In any outside space it could be a great idea to leave a selection of games that they could play on a grassed area during the drinks receptions and for a run about after the meal

All these ideas are inexpensive, and well worth the investment..

Don't forget the Groom!!

It's his special day & he will want to look his best too ..

Many Grooms go for the traditional morning suit when choosing their wedding attire but more recently I have seen more and more people choosing a more relaxed approach & selecting suits that they'll be able to wear again

What I really like about this picture is the way each groomsman is wearing the same colour pallet yet wearing totally different ties, this is a really effective idea and gives each groomsman an individual edge

Another really simple but also effective idea is having the groom in a different suit to the rest of the groomsmen.

 My couples often ask me about gift ideas for their Best Man & Ushers. Personally I think that something that will be used everyday will make a great gift - even better if they can be personalised too

Something proving popular this summer is the brooch bouquet, it can be such a fantastic idea for adding something really sentimental to your wedding outfit, adding some extra sparkle and best of all its something to keep afterwards!

 Some of these bouquets are purely made from a collection of brooches and pins where as some of the others are mixed with a floral bouquet. Some brides do this as a clever way of combining jewelry from departed relatives with their bouquet which will be held close to their heart on their special day.

After wondering why brides do carry a bouquet I found out one of the answers,

'One of the reasons that brides carried bouquets was born out of the ‘necessity’ of covering odour, trying to smell pretty on that special day.'

This may be one of the reasons people are being more adventurous and not having flowers.

One thing to bear in mind if you’re having a broach bouquet is to be careful if you’re throwing it!
