A unique thank-you / Unique Wedding Planning / The Wedding Industry Awards / Thank-you

A Unique Thank-you!

Wednesday 12th February

I was so pleased to have won the National Award for Best Independent Wedding Planner at The Wedding Industry Awards, that I wanted to say a massive thank-you to all the fabulous suppliers that support me ...On one of the most wet & windy nights of the year & in true wedding style determination, thanks to the many that turned out - I feel a bit of suppliers net-working (really partying!) is the future!

Luckily the photos of us all don’t reflect just how bad the weather was!

Some more stunning work from Candy! These went down a storm with everyone and tasted just as amazing as they look.

Luke Michael and his father Michael Moore performed a vocal set during the night; this got the night off to a brilliant start and built an amazing atmosphere! Everybody loved them!

I was delighted to be joined by so many work friends.
Big shout out to all who made it.

Here goes -

A massive thanks to Leigh Mcara Photography for the images.

We should definitely do it again soon!

Here’s to a fabulous start to 2014 at Unique Wedding Planning!
Cheers!

Wedding Themes

In 2012 a Wedding Theme needn’t be restrictive, rigid or old fashioned. Your wedding is likely to involve aspects of different themes which complement and flatter one another… Or if you have a passion for a certain theme, it can be a lovely way to tie all of those important little design details together

A theme idea may start with a favourite colour, a preferred table decoration or even a mood you want your wedding to enjoy

I mentioned the value of Mood Boards & Styling ideas in a previous blog, and similarly when working with a Wedding Planner it may be useful to suggest any theme ideas that you imagine your wedding to be inspired by…

Here are some on trend themes for 2012..

     "Garden Party"

"Vintage Glamour"

         "Multi-Coloured"

"White Weddings" by Red Floral Architecture"

One of the most exciting things about these trending themes is how they can be combined and contrasted. I look forward to working with you to design the overall look of your Wedding and ensure that it is completely ‘you’ and totally Unique X

Sarah & Tony: Dore Church & Thornbridge Hall

Sarah & Tony: 28th May 2011: The Best of Both Worlds (& a bit more!)

First off all, I make no apologies for the longer than normal Blog & the more than usual amount of images...I just couldn't choose...So enjoy!

I first met Sarah & Tony on a very dreary November day at an extremely dreary Wedding Fayre.
I was soon jolted awake by Tony, who being a man who says what he thinks, told me in no uncertain terms what he though of me not replying to his emails! Well...lucky for me, it wasn't me ... It doesn't matter who it was, because as it turned out, it was a really great ice-breaker!

You can't imagine how disappointed I was (read devastated!!), when they had to leave. Their young daughter who less than impressed with the Fayre, decided it was time for them to go.... and they'd just started telling me about their wedding, planned for the following May at one of my very favourite venues, Thornbridge Hall! Thornbridge is just one of those places that I instantly fell in love with. When I first started Unique, I did lots of market research on many venues & I knew that I always wanted to work at there, as for many reasons, it falls top of most of my lists..

I was absolutely thrilled (& glad I wasn't on Skype!), when Tony called the following February, to say that they would like some support with their final wedding plans. For couples who are having a large wedding or holding it an unusual venue, involving many suppliers, it is normally within 4-6 months of the big day that they will request some help with the completion of their planning. My Best of Both Worlds Package is designed with this in mind & can be adapted to suit each couples needs.

I arranged to meet them at their home & we covered all the planning that they had done to date & talked about what was left to do. This included sourcing all the outstanding suppliers, building a plan that managed them all, setting up the venue the day before the wedding & then coordinating all the elements on the actual day, including the set up at the church.

From this, I put together a proposal that covered all the above & I'm thrilled to say that they hired me immediately. Over the next few months I met them many times & kept them updated with the plan as it changed, making sure that all the suppliers involved where kept in the loop.

I know from the feedback that I've had from them & the largest box of chocolates ever (yes I did eat all of them!), that they were absolutely thrilled with how their wedding day came together. From my point of view, it was extremely hard work, but an absolute privilege to both to have been a part of such an incredible day & to work with such amazing suppliers at a stunning venue ...What more could a Wedding Planner ask for ?!!

With major thanks to Jo & Simon at http://www.shoot-lifestyle.co.uk/ for capturing the day with totally stunning photography.
To Mat Hepplestone at http://www.redfloral.co.uk/ for the amazing flowers.
And finally to Jackie at http://www.thornbridgehall.co.uk/home.html where there truly is, always something different!

Katie Peckett Wedding Flowers

Thank-you to all the brides who braved the freezing weather & came to the Whirlow Grange Wedding Fayre on Sunday.  I met some great new suppliers, chatted "weddings" to people from all over the country & I am off to meet a local couple tomorrow...so a good day & a Fayre I am repeating in February, thanks to all at The Bride Guide.
I had an stunning bouquet on my stand, courtesy of Katie Peckett : Wedding Flowers.  I have done a lot of work with Katie & her team this summer, from the set-up of some of the region's most prestigious venues, Thornbridge Hall, Tissington Hall & Chatsworth House through to the Town Hall Wedding Fayre.
